Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What is Lubramine?
A - Lubramine is a food supplement containing a new patented, active ingredient, Celadrin, which is one of the most effective natural compounds to safely promote flexibility and healthy joint function. Clinical studies have reported significant results without any side effects.

Q - What is the Celadrin® compound in Lubramine made from?
A - Celadrin® is made from a patented complex blend of special esterified fatty acids, derived from beef tallow oil. The esterification prevents oxidation and aids stability.

Q - Why is Lubramine superior to other products containing Celadrin?
A- Lubramine contains 500mg of Celadrin, the dose shown to be effective in research, in an easy to swallow capsule. Lubramine G contains 500mg Celadrin together with 500mg Glucosamine in a unique synergistic jointcare formulation.

Q - Is Celadrin® safe?
A - Celadrin® is made of fatty acids from beef origin and is therefore a natural food derived supplement. In addition, the manufacturers have carried out safety studies to ensure Celadrin is safe at very high intake levels. Over 100 million Celadrin® tablets have been sold to date without any reported side effects.

Q - How does Celadrin® work?
A - Celadrin® works by helping to lubricate the joints and cushion the bones in the joints so allowing more flexibility and mobility of joints.

Celadrin® works similarly to, but even more effectively, than the essential fatty acids, EPA and DHA from fish oils. Celadrin's complex blend of esterified fatty acids are believed to stimulate and enhance immune response in the body. Celadrin® induces changes at cellular level in the cell membranes supporting the cellular structure around the inflamed joints. This may help in the reduction of cartilage breakdown in the joints.

Q - Is there any science behind Celadrin®?
A - Celadrin® has been studied in clinical trials with results published in the prestigious Journal of Rheumatology for both oral dose and topical applications, as well as, in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

Celadrin® was studied using a double-blind, multi-centre, placebo-controlled trial (the most scientifically validated type). Sixty-four participants between the ages of 37 to 77 were given Celadrin® capsules and were evaluated at the beginning of the trial, at 30 days and at the end of the 68 day study. Compared to those given a placebo, those who were given Celadrin® had more flexibility and were able to walk further distances than the placebo group. The study therefore concluded that Celadrin®, when taken orally may help improve joint mobility and flexibility.

An additional study, as an extension of this original trial, confirmed earlier research showing improvement in elbow, wrist and knee mobility.

Q - How would you compare conventional anti-inflammatories or pain relieving drugs to Celadrin®?
A - Pain relieving drugs such as Cox-2 inhibitors have received a bad press recently due to their possible side effects - including upper and lower gastro-intestinal bleeding and are increasingly being recommended only for short term use in pain relief. Where they do cause side effects or are not recommended you could consider trying a Celadrin containing supplement such as Lubramine.

Q - How does Lubramine compare to other natural joint health products?
A - Celadrin's beneficial effects have been proven superior in results to Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, SAMe and other natural joint health products.
Celadrin® provides restoration of a wide range of joint health conditions including sports injuries to joints, muscles, tendons and deep tissue.

Q - Can Celadrin® work well in conjunction to taking Glucosamine such as in Lubramine G?
A - Yes, the combination of Celadrin and Glucosamine works synergistically and that is the reason they have been combined in one convenient tablet of Lubramine G.

The cause of wear on the joint area can be attributable to inflammation as well as insufficient lubrication and cell membrane fluidity.

Glucosamine may assist in the rebuilding of cartilage & the overall structure of the joint and has shown moderate effects on people with osteoarthritis.

Celadrin ® helps glucosamine to work faster and more efficiently as well as accelerating and promoting joint health. The dual action of Celadrin® and glucosamine provide, improved joint mobility and renewed cartilage.

Q - Does Lubramine work like synthetic Cox-2 drugs?
A - No, synthetic Cox-2 inhibitors are very specific. In addition to producing inflammatory agents in the body, Cox-2 is required in the manufacture of prostacyclin a very immuno-protective prostaglandin. Cox-2 drugs use up this protective prostaglandin and this is likely the reason behind their negative side-effects. Lubramine does not affect prostacylcin and, therefore is a safe, non-toxic option.

Q - How much does Lubramine and Lubramine G cost?
A- Lubramine costs £9.99 for 30 capsules containing 500mg of Celadrin; Lubramine G costs £12.99 for 30 tablets of 500mg Celadrin plus 500mg Glucosamine HCl; Lubramine Cream costs £14.99 for 50ml tube.

Q - Why is Lubramine in capsule form and Lubramine G in tablet form?
A - Lubramine contains only Celadrin which is an oil and so can be encapsulated purely in a softgel capsule. In Lubramine G the Celadrin is mixed with Glucosamine powder and so the oil needs to be dried into a powder and pressed into a tablet to ensure even mixing.
